Plan a Research Talk or Learning Workshop with Agent Skills
Choose a presentation workflow by the audience and the job of each slide. Keep source evidence, activity timing and editable delivery requirements separate.
Fastest way
Ask your AI to do it
Paste this into the AI agent you already use:
Help me choose a research-talk, learning-workshop or browser-deck workflow. Ask for audience, speaking time, participant action, approved sources and required files. Explain the choice, outline one short section, retain citations and limits, and inspect the actual exported copy before delivery.
A research talk and a workshop need different structures
A research audience needs the question, method, evidence and limits. A learning group needs a goal, an explanation, an action and a way to discuss what happened. Choose Research Talk Deck for a source-backed technical talk, Learning Loop Deck for facilitated practice, or Presentation Deck Builder for a small portable browser deck with notes. These are different workflows, not interchangeable visual themes.
Bring a brief the agent can actually use
- Name the audience, speaking time, discussion time and the one decision or ability the session should support. Reserve time for transitions and questions before assigning slides.
- Supply permitted notes, figures and citation details. Mark results as observed, assumptions or unresolved; a polished diagram must not turn a hypothesis into a finding.
- For a workshop, specify the task participants will perform, the timebox and the expected artifact. A discussion prompt without an action is not a complete exercise.
Try one section before building the whole session
For a research talk, draft a short sequence: question → one method explanation → one approved result → limitation → discussion. For a workshop, draft: goal → worked example → participant task → debrief. Ask the agent to explain why every slide belongs. Remove decorative frames that consume the audience’s limited time.
Give each slide one message and speaker notes that add context. Check that equations and legends remain readable at projection size. Use a rehearsal to change timing; do not infer a real talk duration from slide count alone.
Choose delivery files before promising an export
| Workflow | Useful starting point | Check before delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Research Talk Deck | Source-backed technical material and a spoken research arc | Its documented validator, browser editor and optional PowerPoint exporter need separate checks |
| Learning Loop Deck | Facilitated activities with an explicit timebox and debrief | Check the participant action, notes, navigation and actual exported file |
| Presentation Deck Builder | A 3–12 slide HTML deck and Markdown speaker notes | The included generator does not create a PowerPoint or video file |
Build a complete workshop kit with activities and practice
For a timed lesson with a learner workbook and practice questions, Workshop Facilitator Studio v1.0.0 delivers native editable PowerPoint, an HTML lesson, facilitator notes, agenda, rubric and local workbook downloads. Read its SKILL.md and references/input.md. Python 3.10+ and the pinned python-pptx dependency are required; the generator makes no provider calls. Run the following commands from that installed package in a fresh workspace. The included challenge is fictional.
- Reconcile agenda minutes with the full duration and check that every objective has teaching and practice coverage. Rehearse the timer, inspect quiz explanations and change an answer to confirm old feedback clears. Client-side answers make this self-study, not a secure exam.
- Download actual workbook notes and PowerPoint edits JSON. Rebuild into a new folder to refresh the PowerPoint; browser edits do not rewrite the agenda or objectives. Inspect native text and notes in the intended presentation app before claiming visual fidelity. A real pilot is still needed to assess learning effectiveness.
Review the current workshop package and requirements
Review a research-backed roadmap before teaching the decision
python3 -m venv .venv
.venv/bin/python -m pip install -r requirements.txt
.venv/bin/python scripts/build-workshop.py --input examples/workshop.json --demo --output ./practice-workshopRun the small browser-deck example
After installing Presentation Deck Builder, read SKILL.md and references/input.md. From its package folder, Node.js 24+ runs the command below without dependencies or API keys. The fictional example is practice material; it is not evidence about your product or research. The destination must be a new folder.
node scripts/build-deck.mjs --input examples/deck.json --output ./practice-research-deckReview every slide and the exported copy
- Open presentation.html, test the arrow keys and Next/Previous controls, read speaker-notes.md and inspect the printable layout. Replace the fictional content before using the deck with an audience.
- For the two template-based workflows, follow the validator and export commands in that installed package. Browser edits, HTML exports and editable PowerPoint outputs are different artifacts; reopen the actual delivery and check text, images and notes.
- Deliver the source list, unresolved gaps and editable inputs beside the presentation. Keep evidence labels visible rather than hiding limitations in speaker notes only.
