Build a Browser Presentation from a Brief

Turn an approved brief into 3–12 browser slides, editable input and speaker notes. Review the narrative and navigation before presenting; other export formats need their own checks.

Fastest way

Ask your AI to do it

Paste this into the AI agent you already use:

Use Presentation Deck Builder to make a presentation from my brief. Ask for the audience, decision, time limit and approved facts. Outline 3–12 slides, keep one message per slide and add speaker notes. Read the installed SKILL.md, generate into a new folder and check every slide and keyboard control. Deliver HTML, notes and input JSON; ask before adding other formats.

What will I make?

Presentation Deck Builder creates presentation.html and speaker-notes.md from JSON. It is a practical first free Skill when you need to present a supplied story in a browser. It does not generate a PowerPoint file or an MP4.

Prepare an audience, a decision and evidence

  • Name the audience and the decision they should be able to make after the deck.
  • Supply approved facts, the available time and any brand or tone constraints. Mark missing facts rather than inventing metrics.
  • Read references/input.md in the installed package. Copy examples/deck.json to a new input file and replace the fictional Juniper Desk story.

Outline the story before styling slides

For a six-slide product briefing, a useful authored sequence is the problem, audience, product, evidence, proposed next step and decision. This is an example structure, not evidence about your product. Give each slide one message; move explanations into the speaker notes.

Build a first draft in a fresh folder

Install the package using the linked installation guide and confirm the agent loaded its SKILL.md. Review the generator before running it. From the package folder, Node.js 24+ can run the included practice input without dependency installation or an API key.

node scripts/build-deck.mjs --input examples/deck.json --output ./practice-deck

Check the actual presentation

  • Open every slide; compare names, dates and numbers with the supplied brief.
  • Test Next, Previous and arrow keys; inspect speaker notes and the narrow layout.
  • If a PDF is needed, print from the browser and inspect that saved PDF. Printable HTML alone is not a delivered PDF.

Edit, regenerate and hand over

Edit your input JSON and rerun into a new directory. Keep the approved HTML, Markdown notes and input together. An existing output folder is rejected to protect prior work. For data-heavy presentations, use CSV Story Report and reconcile the calculations before adding the story.
