Good fit

Analysts and operators who need an inspectable report and presentation from supplied data.

Know the limits

Describes supplied records; it does not establish causation, revenue or growth.

About this skill

Capabilities: 2–8 independently calculated views of one original CSV; row counts, exact sums, row-weighted averages, different dimensions and explicit ISO calendar-month buckets. Switch views with mouse or keyboard, inspect chronological monthly values, filter/sort each report and export its exact grouped CSV.

Deliverables: analysis index.html and workspace.json plus report.html, browser slides, summary.json, groups.csv and quality report per view. Optional editable PowerPoint can be generated from a selected view's summary. Single-report workflow remains supported.

Requirements and run: Node.js 24+, offline. node scripts/build-workspace.mjs --input examples/workspace.json --csv examples/data.csv --output ./analysis. Serve the output with a local static server for embedded reports. Optional PowerPoint uses Python 3.10+ and python-pptx.

Validation: actual 48-listing Skillrove catalog reconciled across output counts, list-price cents and publication months with zero exclusions. Exact decimals, weighted means, original byte hashes/physical lines, ISO dates, per-view quarantine and spreadsheet-safe labels tested. Browser view switching, embedded filtering, calculation disclosure, downloads and mobile layout checked.

Limits: UTF-8 CSV up to 2 MiB, 10,000 rows, 100 groups per view. Invalid data fails unless quarantine is explicitly requested; views may exclude different rows. List-price sums are not revenue. No automatic cohorts, retention or causal/statistical claims. Native PowerPoint visual rendering needs inspection in the chosen viewer.

Version 1.2.0 adds multi-view and monthly analysis. Earlier packages remain in version history. Existing purchases and active memberships receive the active version. MIT license included.

    Choose your agent

These steps use a project folder. Open the project in your agent and run terminal commands from its root.

    Codex directory guide

    Package folder .agents/skills/csv-story-report

  2. 02

    Add the package

Download and unzip the package into the folder above. Keep all its files together, with SKILL.md directly inside that folder.

Downloads require a verified account and purchase access. Choose a new folder if this Skill is already installed.

  3. 03

    Run the included sample

Manual sample commands and technical details

Read SKILL.md, review the generator and check its runtime requirements before running:

    cd .agents/skills/csv-story-report
    node scripts/build-workspace.mjs --input examples/workspace.json --csv examples/data.csv --output ./analysis
    Your first result

Serve analysis with a local static server. Switch among 2–8 analytical views, filter/sort each embedded report, present its slides and download its grouped CSV. Reconcile all metrics and original line numbers with workspace.json; dateBucket: month adds calendar-month analysis.

Read references/workspaces.md. Count, sum and row-weighted average have different meanings. Views may exclude different invalid rows only after explicit quarantine. Monthly aggregation and list-price totals do not establish growth or revenue; PowerPoint visual rendering requires native inspection.

If sample-report already exists, change the output to ./sample-report-2. Existing files are never overwritten.

    Prefer to ask your agent?

Use CSV Story Report at .agents/skills/csv-story-report. Read SKILL.md and review scripts/build-workspace.mjs. Run examples/workspace.json into a new output folder and show me all generated files. Keep fictional sample content clearly labeled.

Ready to use your own facts?

Copy examples/workspace.json to a new input file, replace all fictional facts, and generate into a new folder. Review the content before using or publishing it; the generator does not independently verify claims.
