# Localization review

Review actual pages at narrow widths, 200% text zoom, RTL, date/number formats, keyboard focus and font coverage. A character budget is a review warning, not proof of visual clipping. Authored fixture translations require linguistic review before real publication.

Only nested string catalogs and simple {name} placeholders are checked. Arrays, plural objects, ICU strings and framework-specific escaping require an adapter and actual framework tests. Unsupported brace syntax stays in the report as review work. Missing copy is labeled as source fallback in the preview and remains missing in exported JSON. No machine translation, TMS sync, remote upload or application code mutation occurs.

Browser edits modify only the current in-memory project. Download edited-project.json and pass it to build-localization.py into a fresh output directory to refresh all JSON, XLIFF, evidence and manifests. Static links retain the original build; live edited JSON downloads reflect current edits. Pseudo copy expands the source while preserving named placeholders and is never a translation.
